Behind the Counter: 37 Years of Royal Glass House
October 1988. A small shop on Bidhan Road, one mirror-cutting bench, two hands. That is how Royal Glass House began. Over 37 years later, we still operate from the same neighbourhood — but the showroom has expanded, the team has grown, and the materials we stock have evolved with the way Siliguri builds its homes.
The First Decade — Glass Only
For the first ten years, we cut, polished and installed nothing but glass and mirrors. Architects in town came to us for the kind of edge-work no one else could deliver consistently.
The Plywood Years
By the late 90s, modular furniture was making its way into Siliguri homes. Customers kept asking us for plywood, laminates and veneers in the same trip. So we expanded — slowly, brand by brand, only stocking what we could personally vouch for.
What Has Stayed the Same
The phone still rings off our personal line. The same family runs the showroom. We still take pride in spending an hour with a confused first-time homeowner and walking out with the right material list — even if it means a smaller bill that day, because the second project always comes back.
What Is New
This redesigned website is one of the recent steps. We wanted a place online that mirrors the quiet, careful experience of walking into our showroom — premium, honest, and easy to navigate. The team behind the scenes worked hard to make it feel like that.
Thank you, Siliguri. We are excited about the next chapter.
